CHICAGO -- Cleveland manager Terry Francona just wants Danny Salazar to get healthy. A return to the mound would be a bonus for the Indians.Salazar had an MRI on Monday in Cleveland and will miss three to four weeks with a forearm injury, sidelining the right-hander for the rest of the regular season and casting doubt on his availability for the playoffs.Salazar was examined by Dr. Mark Schickendantz, the Indians head team physician. He was diagnosed with a mild strain to his flexor musculature. When its all said and done, getting the news that we did is probably pretty damn good, Francona said. I mean its musculature as opposed to something with a ligament.Cleveland began the day with a seven-game lead in the AL Central over second-place Detroit. If the Indians make it to the playoffs, a healthy Salazar likely would serve as their No. 3 starter behind Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, but Francona said it was too early to speculate on what he might be able to do in the postseason. The one thing we want to do is get him healthy, make sure he knows hes healthy, because thats important, Francona said, and then if it fits somewhere, good. But the biggest thing is to get him healthy.Salazar will get a platelet-rich plasma injection on Tuesday and stop throwing for approximately 10 days. Salazar had Tommy John surgery in 2010 and missed a couple weeks in August with right elbow inflammation, but Mondays MRI showed his ulnar collateral ligament was intact. The 26-year-old Salazar is 11-6 with a 3.87 ERA in 25 starts. He pitched four innings Friday at Minnesota before he was pulled because of forearm tightness.I think he felt this on one pitch, Francona said. The injury ramps up the pressure on Trevor Bauer, Josh Tomlin and Mike Clevinger, three possibilities for the playoff rotation if Salazar is unable to go. Bauer goes for his third straight win Tuesday against the White Sox, and Tomlin and Clevinger start the final two games of the series.I dont they need to try to do more than they can, Francona said. Every time they start its a big night. Every time somebody does well it helps everybody, but its always the case.---Jay Cohen can be reached at http://www.twitter.com/jcohenapAir Jordan 12 Retro NZ .com) - Christian Ponder will get another chance to prove himself for the Minnesota Vikings, with head coach Leslie Frazier announcing Wednesday that the struggling quarterback will start this weekends game against the Green Bay Packers. Nick Knight says there is still room for improvement in the England Women side despite winning their ODI and T20I series in South Africa 2-1.Sarah Taylor struck her third straight fifty as England triumphed in the final T20I in Johannesburg, chasing down 132 inside 16 overs to win by four wickets. It was new coach Mark Robinsons first tour in charge of the side and Knight thinks he still needs time to stamp his new approach on the team.I dont think Robinsons quite sure yet how good this side can be, said Knight. He is trying to make changes, that is clear from the teams approach to todays run-chase.He is trying to push them to targets they havent reached before, express themselves in a way they havent done before. Head coach Mark Robinson says England Women must learn how to play without a fear of failure.dddddddddddd With that will come the odd blip, like we saw at the end [England lost four wickets for 28 runs] but we will just have to tolerate that. The challenge for him is he is learning about some of these players for the first time, he met one or two for the first time when he flew out here.Hell work closely with captain Charlotte Edwards, and with that he will gain a better understanding of the team he has got. He knows though that its a very talented group. Taylor is a prime example. She has been a high-class player for a long period of time, but sometimes playing in such a successful way, its easy to sit back and say Im doing alright here, and pick up the plaudits. Robinson is saying even you can be better. They go into the World T20 in India next month with their chances of winning high. Theyre either the best side in the world, or one of the best two, up there with Australia. From what we have seen in this series, perhaps that gap is getting a little bit smaller - South Africa have improved considerably since the last time I saw them - but England will be very disappointed if they dont at least make the final.Watch highlights of todays match at 4.30pm on Sky Sports 2, then join us for live coverage of the ICC Womens World T20 live on Sky Sports in March.
